It’s been a busy but incredible year so far - full of traveling, learning, working, and lots of time spent outside. I’m fresh off the Brand New Conference in Nashville, soaking up inspiration from some seriously awesome creatives, and just getting back to civilization after an ~85-mile backpacking trip through the Pennsylvania woods, where the inspiration came from a slightly less digital source. There’s been a lot happening creatively and behind the scenes at Freehouse, so I’m super stoked to share a few exciting updates with you all!

It’s been over two years since this full-time journey with Freehouse began, and it’s been such a pleasure to grow alongside all of you and become a creative partner on the incredible projects we get to collaborate on. So, I’m especially excited to share that Freehouse is growing!
You may start seeing me CC’ing a new random person on some of our emails and file share requests, so I’d like to officially give a warm welcome to Isabella, Freehouse’s first Freelance Junior Designer!

You may also notice that we may or may not have the same last name… yep, you guessed it. Isabella is my sister, who I convinced (tricked?) into going to design school a few years ago. She’s been growing as a designer ever since, and I’m so excited to have her joining Freehouse and getting the chance to collaborate with all of you. For now, she’ll primarily be jumping into layout, social, brand, and other creative projects, with plenty of room to grow from there. Is this design nepotism? Maybe. Or, is it a strategic business decision that also happens to involve my sister? I’ll let you decide ;) Either way, she’s a great designer, and I’m really excited about what having another creative brain in the mix means for Freehouse - and, more importantly, for all of you. It means more capacity, more collaboration, and another set of hands to help keep projects moving and make even more cool stuff together.
As I work on getting her onboarded, you’ll probably see her copied on some of our emails as she learns the ropes and officially joins the part-time freelance ranks. This is an especially exciting step for Freehouse because it means we’ll have a little more capacity to take on projects, keep things moving when I’m off-grid wandering, and continue keeping up with all the awesome work you guys send my way.
Thanks for keeping Freehouse booked and busy :) I’m so excited for this next chapter!
And now for another pretty big (and very exciting) update… Freehouse is moving!
I’m officially moving to Florida sometime in late November, with the actual move date still TBD. While I’m incredibly stoked to be heading back to the Sunshine State, this move is also the beginning of some bigger travel plans for next year. I’ll be hopping around and working remotely again, with more on that to come later.
But this time around, Freehouse will look a little different. With our new growth, we’ll have more capacity to keep projects moving and take on new work even while I’m traveling. I’m really excited about what that means for Freehouse and for continuing to grow alongside all of you into 2027.
And if you’re a PA-local business that we collaborate with, don’t worry - I’ll still be back in Pennsylvania from time to time for outdoor adventures, family, and, of course, just to say hey! And if we have a good reason to collaborate in person, message me anytime. I’m always looking for an excuse to travel. ;)
And that’s the latest from Freehouse! There’s a lot of exciting change happening, and I’m really looking forward to this next chapter - continuing to grow the studio, collaborate with more of you, and see where all of these new adventures take us.
As always, if you have any questions about the studio changes, Isabella joining the team, the move, or anything else, feel free to shoot me an email anytime. I’m always happy to chat and make sure you know what to expect moving forward!

Thanks, as always, for being here, trusting me with your projects, and helping make Freehouse what it is. I’m so grateful for all of the creative work, conversations, adventures, and connections that have come from this little studio over the past couple of years, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Cheers,
Sophia
